Me Monday: Girl’s weekend in Palm Springs

Hello there! I’m getting a bit of a late start this morning due to the extreme amounts of fun that I had in Palm Springs over the weekend with my girlfriend, Colleen. WARNING: this post is a bunch of pictures of her and I, with a few design elements thrown in the mix.

We Pricelined a room and ended up staying at the Renaissance Marriott, which I’d highly recommend and definitely go back to. They had a cool, contemporary modern vibe, great rooms, comfortable beds, fantastic shower heads and the friendliest staff you’ll ever meet. This was the view from our window.

The first stop was The Viceroy, which was designed by Kelly Wearstler. After staying at the Avalon for Halloween, I knew I wanted to check out some more of her boutique hotel work.

I loved the yellow and sunburst concept she has going on here, mixed with the classic black and white. SO Palm Springs!

We then stopped at Las Casuelas for some fish tacos. I love this Mexican restaurant because it’s always so lively and festive. The fish tacos were bursting with an abundance of fish…delish.

We then took a power nap and got ready to go out downtown Palm Springs. We grabbed a cocktail at Matchbox,  headed back to Las Casuelas for margaritas and live music and finished the night at The Village Pub.

The next day, we took full advantage of not having anything to wake up for, so we lounged around in bed for a few hours and watched HGTV until we made it down to the pool for some afternoon catnaps in the desert sun. It was divine!

Night 2 we decided that we were in need of a nice meal. Kaiser was on our list of places in Palm Springs that we wanted to check out, so we had a seat at the bar and shared a delicious meal of Australian sea bass and filet mignon medallions with mac n’ cheese. So good.

Second to the food at Kaiser was the amazing lighting they had going on. There is hardly anything that is as important as lighting when it comes to design. Really, it sets the entire mood for the experience you want your customers to have. These pictures obviously don’t do them justice, but believe me, they were gorgeous!

We ended up back at Las Casuelas for a quick drink, danced to some amazing live music at Sammy G’s and ended up at a dance club called Zelda’s to round out the night.

No Palm Springs trip is complete without a little Sunday morning champagne brunch, so we dined at Lulu’s. Again, this picture does not do these beautiful, oversized chandeliers any justice, but they were awesome! The food was OK, but the service, experience/vibe and views were amazing!

Girl’s trips to Palm Springs are so fun! I’d definitely go back and make another weekend out of it.

It looks like you girls had SUCH a blast! Still yet to make it to Palm Springs but this just made me want to visit that bit more. All that sun! Seems funny as it's so cold here in London! xx
