Fresh Find Friday!

The more I hear about how cold it has been in Minnesota lately, the more and more I’m loving December in California!

Now, my boyfriend Nick, who is a native Californian says that anyone born and raised in California would never own any of these items. I’m from Minnesota and have lived in California for almost 6 years and I think they’re all totally awesome and would proudly display any of them in my home or around my neck (but I do also say “totally awesome”…). I’m curious. Those of you who are native to the Golden State, what are your thoughts on these CA pride items? And how about you transplants, such as myself, what do you think? Would you like to see any of these in your home?

Hi Jamie! Your post made me laugh. I feel the exact same way! The first thing I noticed when I moved to Los Angeles is that with some people I met the 'cool thing' to toss around is how horrible la is- the traffic is horrible, the people are shallow, the weather is terrible, the pollution, blah blah. Now it might be trendy but I just laugh because you can begin to that about ANY place you live in! I am loving CA <3

Thank you so much for your comment on my blog ~lovelyuglydesign!

and thank you for your comments on my work! I am thrilled to have heard from you and would love to be a part of the blog group you mentioned! That sounds so fantastic! (totally awesome :) ) I have been really wondering how I will begin to meet more people out here in the design world and make connections. I moved to CA from Colorado- its horribly snowy there too right now- and I am loving the weather, the good food, the sunshine, the rain, the energy here… it’s just great. I am working for a ‘big time’ (you know what I mean) hospitality firm here. It’s a great opportunity and I am learning allot, my heart is more in boutique design, smaller firm, branding, interior styling…

I hope we can continue to connect. Thank you so much for writing! Enjoy your weekend!
Jessica (apologies for the longest comment ever…)

So totally cute! Love what your boyfriend said. I'm a native Californian also (: Still loving the finds though! I'm moving to Southern California (from Nor Cal) in 2 years to finish my schooling at FIDM for interior design and would LOVE to connect with you when I'm there (if you're still there, that is!)
