Wednesday Weekend Warm Up (American Style)

Memorial Day is the time to honor all the brave men and women who have fought and paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Many people visit memorials or cemeteries and fly flags at half mast. In addition to remember our brave soldiers, Memorial Day is also a time for family gatherings and picnics. If your Memorial Day activities include an indoor gathering or outdoor barbeque, impress your guests with this all American drink.
American Pie Cocktail
Ingredients
2 cups ice
1/2 cup whiskey
1/2 cup apple liqueur
1 cup cranberry juice
Sliced apples, for garnish, optional
Directions
Add to shaker, ice, Canadian whiskey, apple liqueur and cranberry juice. Pour into 2 rocks glasses, garnish with a slice of apple, if using, and serve.

Well this is a good reason to have a drink, or two (you know, for the sake of America). I will definitely bring these to a 4th of July soirée.
